If I wait 5 minutes or so, it will teleport me back to the spawn and start gameplay as normal, or it will crash, it varies. This also prevents me from starting a server, as a player joining will both crash the server and end-of-stream the player.
I have no other mods.
This is a very common bug around the community. It is due to the large ammount of data that has to be loaded when loading a new chunck with non-native minecraft files (AKA Aether files). Because of the lenght it takes to load the chunk, it acts as a "void" until it is fully loaded, therefore allowing the player to fall through it. If you can, PLEASE avoid it, as it can corrupt your world depending on what you fall on (Dungeon teleporter blocks, for example)
But I agree with everything you suggested Oscar, that would be amazing. What minecraft lacks, the Aether excels at (history, content, re-play appeal, etc) and that could be used much more on an adventure-like map!
Now you got me... my bad, but I'm on a break from the mod since last month, so I have no idea how to work with the launcher... =/
You probably failed on installing the mod, and it corrupted some of your basic minecraft files... could you try getting a new, CLEAN version of minecraft and installing the mod? The problem might be, aswell, mod incompatibility. (do you have any other mods besides aether installed?)
[splash] potion of anti-gravity (attack, makes players fly away uncontrolably)
potion of Puffhop (neutral, player jumps higher)
Anti-gravity: Awesome idea... very useful for pvp
Puffhop: Why not making it have the same effect of bunnies? When you use it, you can tap while jumping to gain extra height and fall on a much slower rate.
Use it as a base ingredient for Aether potions
\o/ Genius idea.
Not 100% pure oxigen... I can't realy explain, you have to search for what Aether realy means in the internet... its a complicated philosofical bullcrap that was also used in physics until the 18's
What do you mean with "How bad was it?"? Tweaking a feature so it becomes better for the players is not bad at all... its just boring to wait for it to be implemented again.
By original, you mean the Aether 1? No.
The Aether 2 is supposed to be an update to the Aether 1 series, so they won't bring it back... But all of the cool features of the Aether 1, such as the Gold and Silver dungeons should be brought back to the mod very soon.
But then its not never, is it? =)
This is not part of the game (the soundtrack of the mod is amazing, btw), but its probably due to an error when downloading the mod files. Have you tried downloading and re-installing the mod? Sorry if it looks like a stupid thing, but that is the most common reason for bugs out there
It is kinda being used already...
I mean, "Aether" means Clear Sky, Pure Sky, Pure Air. That would explain why Overworld torches doesn't work in the Aether... But as I have wrote several times before, I think we should have some aether-specific effects because of the air condition (like buffs or debuffs)
Do you know would be cool? If you could bring the Holywater to the Overworl and, then, it would damage every undead unit for 2 hearts per second (Because it is holy!) for as long as they maintain contact with it.
Bottom of the islands?
I thought that aswell, but how could it be done? The lake has a chance of 0,002% of spawning in any 6-15 radius area as long as every Holywater block is at least 3 blocks away from everything that is not Air blocks? Would the Holywater blocks float forever, or would there be a way to make the water fall? Can you get it with a bucket? Does it have special properties? Would it affect mobs somehow? Would special mobs Spawn in the Holywater? (passive mobs, like small fishes, of course) Would you be able to use the Fishing Rod in it? Can you "delete" the water by placing a block on its place? Does it gives any buffs if you are swimming on it?
Too many questions man.
Too many question.
Holywater (slightly lighter blue water that either could spawn in floating lakes, or instead of flowing down, flows up)
That's a very good idea... Flows up... We could realy use something like that in the mod!
But make it so it only flows up if there is no other holywater or water block nearby, otherwise it will just fall down and form a small lake.
That's a good idea... but I think they would have to modify part of the lore to do that, and I'm not sure if its possible. But I would realy want that =)
Or make it at least that you will decrease their "happiness" every time you mine an ore that is (xx) blocks away from the village, and if their happiness gets too low they will turn agressive on you. You can regain their hapiness by planting things on their village, talking to the npcs, making trades, etc. I think that would make the world much, much more interactive.
We need to see what kind of envyronment they are planning for the deep nether before giving any ideas or things like that... Sticking to the Aether now would be the best thing to do until they release further information, IMO.
Just because there is a tool set doesn't mean it has to have an armor... It wouldn't be the first time this is made in minecraft, by far.
