Aether I

The-Aether-Mod-1024x526

A hostile paradise

The Aether is the main dimension in the Aether II: Highlands mod. This article only covers elements found in the Aether II: Highlands mod. Like all dimensions, the Aether can generate infinitely. Aether Portals in the Overworld can be used to teleport to the Aether.

It is full of empty space, with islands in between each other. Along with normal clouds, groups of blocks generate in the sky, which are called Aerclouds.

Generation[]

Islands generate at a specific range of layers in the Aether, as a result, islands in the Aether tend to occupy an 'equator belt' of the Aether, not being able to generate above or below a certain threshold. Islands can vary in size, from barely being landmasses, to spanning thousands of blocks in distance. Mobs falling to their death is a very common, especially if a player flies below using Creative Mode, and not even Moas are safe. Overworld Aether Portals leading here will spawn the player at a common range of y layer.

Blocks[]

Aether grass - Aether Grass does not require a shovel to mine it and can be mined with a player's bare hands, however it will not drop itself unless mined with a shovel that has the Silk Touch enchantment.

Godore this block is only obtained from God

Holystone is a block that makes up the majority of the Aether's islands.

Mossy Holystone is a mossy variant of Holystone found occasionally in large underground veins.

Ambrosium Ambrosium Ore is the most common ore in the Aether, and can be found at any height on islands. It drops Ambrosium Shards which are used as fuel or for crafting.

Enchanted Aether Grass Enchanted Aether Grass can be created by enchanting Aether Grass with Ambrosium Chunks by right clicking the grass while holding a chunk

Icestone Ore Icestone Ore is as common of an ore as the Aether, and can also be found at any height on islands. It drops Icestone which can be used for crafting blocks, but doesn't have any other use as of yet.

Zanite Ore Zanite Ore is the second most common ore in the Aether, it can be found at any height but is rarer. It drops Zanite Gemstones which can be used mainly for crafting tools and armor. It is equivalent to Iron in the Overworld.

Arkenium Ore Arkenium Ore is the second most rare ore in the Aether, it can be found beneath Y level 70 on islands. It drops itself as an ore block and must be smelted into Arkenium Plates for use in crafting tools and armor. It is about equivalent to Diamond in the Overworld.

Gravitite Ore Gravitite Ore is the most rare ore in the Aether, it can be found beneath Y level 50 on islands. It drops itself as an ore block and must be smelted into Gravitite Plates for use in crafting tools and armor. It is the equivalent to Diamond in the Overworld

Continuum Ore: Genesis of the Void Continuum Ore is the most rare ore in the Aether, it can be found at any height. It drops Continuum Orb, which are used to obtain random items. There is no equivalent in the Overworld.

Day and night[]

A day-night cycle is fully present and functions just like in the Overworld, where the sun acts as a light source. At night, the moon is the only natural light source and hostile mobs spawn during the night or where lighting is not sufficient.
